Thomas O'Connell, President Thomas O’Connell founded CGT Construction in 1993. With his innovative vision, depth of experience and commitment to customer satisfaction, he has succeeded in building CGT into a thriving $30 million company with a loyal and growing clientele. Tom grew up in a family of talented craftsmen, and over 30 years ago started his career as a master carpenter. With a strong work ethic and emerging leadership skills, he quickly advanced to foreman and supervisory positions before deciding to start his own business. From the very beginning, Tom’s primary objective has been customer satisfaction. To that end, he has established certain non-negotiable standards: perform excellent work, complete projects on schedule and within budget and provide the highest levels of customer service. The management team he has assembled, comprised of highly qualified job supervisors, estimators and project managers, shares this commitment. Together they offer the highest level of professionalism and craftsmanship, setting the tone for lasting client relationships. Ernie Detore, Vice President of Field Operations As Vice President of Field Operations and a staff member since the company’s founding, Ernie Detore has been instrumental in the growth and success of CGT Construction. He is responsible for the successful completion of each job, and has particular expertise in complex, multi-million dollar projects. Ernie’s career in the construction field spans more than two decades, and includes a broad range of experience in carpentry, masonry, project management, estimating, procurement and subcontractor scheduling. He works closely with architects and engineers on project design, and has developed a positive rapport with local officials, vendors and clients. By building valued partnerships, practicing strict cost control and producing consistently successful results, Ernie inspires confidence and loyalty in CGT’s customers. Dave Saley, Project Manager/Estimator Dave Saley has been with CGT Construction since 2002. As an integral part of the company’s management team, he is responsible for all project bidding, estimating, contract negotiations, contract administration and project close outs, and regularly oversees all commercial projects. With more than 20 years experience in the construction industry, Dave is meticulous in his approach to every aspect of company business. His diligence and accuracy in preparing quotes has earned client trust, while his ability to foster communication between clients, architects, engineers and subcontractors helps ensure successful and timely project completion. Dave’s project management skills and professionalism have enhanced customer satisfaction and contributed significantly to the company’s success.
